Estera, a middle-class Jewish girl in Bucharest, is expecting a baby, and is trying hard to work out some sort of future with her boyfriend Vlad. In Israel, her mother has been concealing the truth: she is about to be evicted from her apartment and has not found enough work cleaning buildings. Estera must make a choice: pursue a job in America, or join her mother in Israel. Her one hope is a possible new job working on “friend-interview” with Mike, the Romanian-American, who reveals himself to be an uncouth bully….
